If they can learn to say Tchaikovsky and Michelangelo and Dostoyevsky, they can learn to say Uzoamaka.
Uzo Aduba’s mother proving that the idea of not being able to pronounce a POC’s name because it’s “too hard” or “too complicated” is complete bullshit and actually just laziness. (via cosmicspread)

Two more reasons to love Carol Rossetti’s pictures collection is because it adresses disability and it portrays women with disabilities too. I’m so excited that the first one has my name on it!

You can’t pick and choose what parts of feminism you want. You can’t support your queer sisters but not your trans sisters. You can’t support your fat sisters but not your sisters of colour. Being a feminist means creating a positive and equal space for women. The second you start excluding women based on which characteristics you do or do not find appealing you have defeated the whole point of being a feminist.

"The MOGAI rights movement was started by a trans woman of color"

Yes, this is important; but there were multiple trans women of color at the head of the movement, beginning with the Stonewall Riots.

Spread their names. They need to be in the history books and they…

don’t use uteruses as symbol for feminism ok

here’s why:

  • you’re excluding trans women
  • you’re including some trans men
  • you’re excluding cis women who may not have a uterus because they’ve lost it because of or to avoid #cancer

stop doing this it’s so gross

you have to keep reminding yourself that:

  • yes, those things really happened to you
  • no, you’re not overreacting or mis-remembering
  • yes, it “counts”
  • yes, you deserve to share your truths
